Maggie’s is a national cancer support charity.
I worked as PR Manager for the charity for 8 years and was responsible for raising the profile of the charity across national and regional platforms.
Core responsibilities included:
Identifying and placing stories from across the charity in national, consumer, trade and regional media.
Strategic comms - devising key campaigns throughout the year depending on the needs of people with cancer. These included cost of living campaigns, medical menopause, men with cancer and carers of people with cancer, to name a few.
Liaising with stakeholders such as Board members, journalists, influencers, and storytellers (case studies), as well as high net worth individuals, MPs, celebrities and Buckingham Palace.
Profile interviews with key staff, including the CEO, in order to position Maggie's as thought leaders within the cancer space.
Assisting our regional centre and fundraising staff with individual Centre PR including media partnerships, social media, fundraising events, case study gathering and management and crisis communications.
